Thanks for becoming a gym member. Gem of the Hills provides this space as a community service. We are supported solely by dues and the efforts of our volunteers so we ask that as a member you help us keep this facility clean and comfortable for everyone who works out here. In order to make sure that everyone feels welcome, we have a few basic rules. We ask that you honor these and remind those around you who might forget. Thanks for being part of our facility and please don't hesitate to call with any questions or suggestions.
Please sign in upon arrival. This helps us monitor the facility's use both in number and time of day and lets us know what equipment is being used.
Do not share the code with anyone and do not open the door for someone who does not have the code. Unfortunately, every community has some "free-riders." We need every dues dollar to support the maintenance and upgrading of our equipment. Our space is small, so only members are allowed on premises. Please be sure that only those willing to share the cost for our facility have its use.
No one under 18 is allowed in the gym. No children are allowed in the facility. This is to ensure everyone's safety.
Please wear proper attire.
Please help keep the area and equipment clean.
Wash your hands when entering and before leaving. You probably noticed that our caliche driveway can make a real mess, especially on our rubber floors. Dirt on treadmills is one of the fastest ways to damage the equipment. Bring your workout shoes and change in the gym. Look when you are finished and if you have left dirt on a treadmill or the floor, please clean it using the broom provided next to the sink area. Following use, wipe down the equipment. Wipes and disinfectant are provided by the sink.
Enjoy music through personal listening devices only. We will never all agree on what music, if any, helps us get pumped up for our workout so please keep your choice personal by using earbuds during your workout.
Please rack your weights after use and do not tie up multiple stations or pieces of equipment. Please return all weights to their storage station when you have finished your workout. Our space is small and for everyone to have a chance at an efficient workout, we all need to share the equipment that is available. Plan your workout so that you are not keeping multiple stations loaded between sets so that others can work-in.
Don't drop or bang weights. There are often classes or other activities going on in the activity center. Banging weights can be very disruptive. Remember "strength is control." Please control your weights, and talk quietly.
